Update: A reader has informed me that this is a Moody Cutie doll. As the reader commented, and I see in searching online, they also seem to be referred to as Hawaiian dolls.
I spent the day with Emma and Ivy today, so here's a quick post on a weird little kid I found at my favourite Goodwill. It's this crying baby.
All I know about it is that it says 'Hong Kong' on the bottom...
...and it's 3" tall.
The head is a separate piece and can turn.
It might be by Imperial Toys, as I see several similar toys by them in my Google search.
She has lots of red hair too.
That's it for today. Join us tomorrow for another doll.
We had about half a dozen of these when we were kids. They were hand me downs so I don't really know where they came from but my mum always called them "the Hawaiian dolls." I THINK they're called Moody Cuties but whether that's a brand name or just a nickname, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thank you! I looked up Moody Cutie dolls, and she is indeed a Moody Cutie. I'm updating my title.
DeleteThese are the most adorable dolls I've ever seen. I came across 2 of them at an antique shop, a redhead and a blonde. I bought them as quickly as I could. I'm looking for more of these cuties to collect. 😊 😚
ReplyDeleteWell if I knew where this one was right now I'd offer it to you! Good luck on your search.
