Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! I'm getting really bad at remembering to actually shoot some new pictures in time for things! I worked all day on the junk store post yesterday, and forgot to do anything for Father's Day. (I did get Ken a couple of presents!) But Tammy wanted to make sure her dad, Wally got the appreciation he deserves. So she wants me to post some pictures of her with her dad, from previous Father's Day posts. If you haven't seen those, you can always click 'Father's Day' in the side bar.

And for the record, one of my favourite dads, Ken, here with Emma and Ivy in 2015.

And my other favourite dad, mine.

I'm the little one.

Doll-A-Day 2023 #160: Erna Myer Boy

Okay, I'm another day behind. I didn't have a chance to photograph anything yesterday, and I couldn't use photos I already have, because thanks to updates on my computer, most of my photos now aren't showing up! I can't tell what's what or where, because a lot of them weren't named. They are just numbers. So I have no idea what they are unless I click on each one. And I have thousands of photos. So I am now 9 days behind for the year, and trying to catch up!

In other news, Happy Father's Day! Ken has to work, as usual, but he'll be home for celebrating with us later. I always loved this picture of Ken and Ivy at the zoo when she was little.

My dad is gone, but he would have been 100 years old on Wednesday. This is one of my favourite pictures of him, from Emma's third birthday party.

Three generations, Dad, me, and Emma.

Tammy World is missing her dad, so she wanted to post one of her favourite pictures, of her with her dad, Wally.

She also thought you might enjoy this Father's Day photo story from a previous Father's Day with the World family.

Now on to today's doll. This little guy is an Erna Myer doll.

Erna Myer, founder of the company bearing her name, began making dollhouse dolls in 1945  You may have seen my post on my Erna Myer dollhouse lady HERE. In that post you can earn more about Erna Meyer and how she started her company. You can visit the Erna Meyer website and watch a film about the company HERE. It is in German, but you can watch the pretty pictures if you don't speak the language!

This little boy is about 3 inches tall. with bendy legs and arms. His legs look not so much thread wrapped as bandage wrapped.

And spongey bandages at that.

I think earlier dolls had lead feet, but this guy has plastic feet. Dollhouse Lady, which you can see in the above linked post, has cloth feet.

He's seen better days. His hair is thin and he's a bit dirty.

  But he's quite cute.

He is obviously a later one because he has a polyester outfit, and a polyester face.

Check out the next post, (also posted today!) to see his sister. And I'll see you tomorrow.

Tammy Gets A Guitar Lesson, and Happy Father's Day

Tammy wants to explore, but Wally goes to help her down from the rocks she's been climbing."Come on Tammy. It's time for your next guitar lesson." "Okay Dad."

"Are you ready?" Wally asks. Tammy hesitates. "I guess. I really want to play music, but I can't understand. It's just really confusing." "Don't worry." Wally assures her. "That's why I'm helping you."

Wally shows Tammy some chords. "You remember what we did last time, don't you?" "Yes. You know I've been practicing." "I heard you." Says Wally. He  plays her a simple tune.

Tammy concentrates and watches Wally closely.

"Do it again." Tammy says. Wally plays it again, as Tammy tries to take it in.

Tammy changes sides and watches Wally's chording hand closely.

"Do you think you're ready to try?" Wally asks. Tammy is hesitant. "Uh,I guess."

"It's awfully big." Tammy says. She perseveres though, trying to wrap her tiny hands around the neck of the guitar. In the end, with Wally's patient instruction, she manages to get a recognizable tune out of the instrument."Great!" says Wally, "You did it! That was really good!"

"I don't know." says Tammy. "That was pretty bad." "Don't worry," Wally tells her. "We'll keep working on it, and you'll be good in no time." "You think?!" Tammy asks happily. "I'm sure you will be." Wally tells her. "It just takes practice."

"Thanks for helping me Dad." "No problem." says Wally. "That's what I'm here for."

Happy Father's Day!

Tammy World and her dad Wally out for a walk.

I'm missing my Dad today, but there will be some celebrating with Ken to do when he gets home from work.

One of my favourite pictures: Dad, with me and Emma at her 3rd birthday party.
He started the day celebrating with Emma, since she's leaving for Las Vegas before he will get home. As one of Dominoes Pizza's best managers, she was sent by the company, to the seminar in Las Vegas. We're very proud of her!
Good father Ken with us all last Christmas Eve. The extra kid on the bottom right is Fuzzy's girlfriend Shanna.
Ken's favourite way to celebrate is eating, so I'm sure we'll be doing some of that!

  Have a great Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! The World Family is Back

   Some Dads are great storytellers.

"...and the dragon came puffing around the corner. The knight held his shield up to block the intense heat from the fire the dragon was breathing..."
Wally World holds his kids spellbound with his tales.

"And then the dragon sneezed and blew out his fire..."

"Well since there's a pause in the story while the dragon heats back up, here Dad.", says Simon, "This is for you. It's from all of us."

"Because, see, not only are you the best dad in the world," Tammy explained, "you're our dad, and you're the best. So either way, you're the World's Best Dad!"

"Oh ha. Keep the day job Tammy." Todd snidely remarked.

"I will, 'cause my day job is punching you in the face!" Tammy snapped back, starting to step toward Todd.

"That's enough." Dolly said, trying to stop them before a war could get underway.

"Cool off. You're going to ruin Daddy's day." soothed Dolly. "I'm sorry." Tammy said.
Wally looked lovingly on his brood. "Thanks you guys. It's easy to be the best Dad when you have the best kids...Well,except when you're trying to kill each other..."

Doll-A-Day 150: Tiny Knitted Doll and Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day from Planet of the Dolls and The World family!

Tammy World and her dad Wally.

Your dad embarrasses you. That's his job.

And Ken,your wife embarrasses you. That's her job.

This is my first father's Day without a father. I hope I do better with it next year, but this is a bit close to the event. Ken's taking us out to eat for Father's Day when he gets home from work. That's his favourite thing, so that's the best way for him to celebrate. In an effort to save time today, I will post the goodies from yesterday's Flea Market tomorrow. But today's doll is a sneak preview.

She's about 2 and 1/4" tall.

To be fair, she may actually be a Christmas ornament, but I got a little boy recently who was very like her, and he didn't have the loop.

See you tomorrow.
