Doll-A-Day 2023 #144: My Twinn Catherine

  Today's doll is a My Twinn. I think she is a Caroline, but I'm not expert.

She is 23 inches tall.

  The little I know about My Twinn dolls at least covers the fact that there were many different head sculpts. I have narrowed this one down as far as I can, and she seems to resemble a Caroline more than any other face.

She has blue eyes, with black lashes, and long ash blonde hair.

She does have the My Twinn imprint on the back of her neck...

...and the My Twinn tag on her body.

Her tag says she was made in China, of that means anything to you My Twinn fans out there. She has a white body fabric. 

It's super clean except for a dirt mark just under her neck joint. That's kind of amazing considering she was brought to the storage by Ken, who had been handling all sorts of sooty stuff at the house. (For the record, she wasn't anywhere near the fire, or the Room of Water. She was brought to storage to get her out of the way when Ken is moving things around in the house to carry down huge contractor bags of rubble from Fuzzy's room.) Her dress has a My Twinn tag too.

She's wearing white tights and white shoes, which are probably also My Twinn, but the surface of the shoes isn't holding up very well.

  She can't turn her head, but she has the My Twinn jointing of shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. I always think My Twinn dolls look a little awkward the way their arms bend. But at least her joints are tight and she can hold a pose.

  I apologize for the blurry picture. My autofocus is still not working, and my lens is very stiff to work manually. I think I need a new lens. Everything goes at once!

Her hair is long, and not rooted for pigtails, but someone put it in them. I guess it's good in a way, because it made sure her hair didn't get super tangled. 

  My Twinn got it's name because you could supposedly get your child a doll that looked just like them, because you could choose a face sculpt, and a hair and eye colour and hair style that most looked like them. I still didn't see the resemblance between the doll one of Emma's friends had as a kid, and the real kid herself.

I have posted My Twinn dolls before. You might have seen the blonde, which I don't have any more, HERE, and the dark haired one belonging to Emma HERE. Emma's, which she bought to resell, but wanted me to fix the neck joint on first, is here, standing on the landing in her nakedness, watching everybody who goes up and down. She was rescued from the Room of Water, with only slightly damp clothes, which I removed and washed. I never did fix her neck, because I was afraid I'd mess her up further, and kept putting it off. Emma still wants to get rid of her, and I'm sure everyone would prefer she weren't here, giving them the creeps.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #176:Yard Sale Finds of the Week,Including My Twinn

  I haven't been to very many yard sales this season. There haven't been very many for one thing.And the few I have been to have been very disappointing. I was getting discouraged and I wasn't very inspired to get up super early,(after staying up very late with Ivy and Ken. Ivy hates going to bed in the summer.),and go out just to find the crap that I didn't want. This weekend we had a huge rain storm on Friday. It poured, and some places were flooded. Ken and I were out anyway, so we went to a few sales as the rain slacked for a while. There wasn't much to be found. On Saturday there was a community sale, so Ken and I went out. It was, as my dad would have said,"the nighest no community sale I ever did see." There were very few sales, and there wasn't much of interest at any of them. In the end I spent $23 the entire day.
 Early on I bought this stuff at one sale.

1/6 scale wooden rocking chair,tiny silver 'tray', and 10 Micro Machines,all for $1!

I thought I might have done pretty well. It was the best I've done so far this season.But soon I went to another sale and found this girl.

She's a My Twinn.

Her  head is marked 1996.

Her wig is coming unglued around the edges.

Her body is marked 2007.

She's one of the 23" My Twinn dolls,like Emma's doll,which I featured on the original Doll-A-Day,back in 2014. You can see her HERE.

I got her,her My Twinn tagged dress and shoes, and an extra My Twinn tagged dress and shoes.

She wanted to show you how my leeks are seeding. Pretty, aren't they? Of course, they should have been eaten before getting to this point,but once again they started to go to seed before getting big enough to eat!

 She's also wearing her My Twinn under shirt and underwear.

There are so many head sculpts for My Twinn dolls.I'm never very sure I know which one I have found. I think this girl is Tamsen,but I'm still not sure.

Tamsen is supposed to be rare.

This girl has some scratches on her hands,and some snags on the fabric of one thigh. Otherwise she 's in pretty good shape.

She has a long ash blonde wig.

I bought her from a teenage girl,who I'm assuming was her original owner.

She and her little sister were selling some of their toys.

They weren't asking much for them. I'm not particularly fond of this  doll, but for the price,I couldn't pass her up. She will help finance something else.

So,like the Lenci doll we saw the other day, she is just passing through.

As you can see, I  finally got my yard under control.

I weed whackered the whole yard! Now that it's short enough, I should be able to keep it under control with my little mower,although it still needs the blades sharpened. We are pondering if it's worth getting the blades sharpened,since the mower only has one handle,and those little non motorized mowers are so cheap that it probably wouldn't be much more than the sharpening cost to just buy a new mower that would have both handles! The problem is, we can't find anywhere that carries one I like

I did buy some other things yesterday too.Nothing was quite on the level of this doll,but I got some interesting items.

I did get some dolls and other things we'll have a look at tomorrow.

Doll-A-Day 316: My Twinn Ariel

  Today's doll is this My Twinn.

This is where Emma says, "Hey! That's my doll!" And yes, she is. Emma was going to sell her, but she has a dislocated neck. She brought her over to see if I could fix her.

I don't see how she can be fixed without some industrial strength glue for her neck attachment. She's still poseable and cute though, and looks very cozy in her cold weather outfit. 

Original My Twinn dolls are 23" tall. My Twinn now makes 18" dolls with body construction like American Girls.

As with all My Twinn dolls, her arms seem a bit too long.

I always have trouble making out which face mold My Twinn dolls have.I think this is the Ariel face mold though.If anybody knows for sure, I'd love to know.

Her outfit is one that My Twinn dolls came in several years ago.

Her sweater hoodie partially buttons up the back to make it easier to get over her head.

It was actually snowing today, You can see it on the ground, and in some of the pictures you'll notice she has what looks like dandruff in her hair. It's snow.

 I love her shoes.

Looks like she's done a lot of playing in these shoes!

Underneath she's wearing a soft cotton camisole top and matching undies.

Are you kidding?! It's cold out here!

My Twinn dolls are quite poseable. They have a very bendy armature, but can't bend at places you'd expect them to, like the elbows. (The vinyl part of the arms goes up past the elbow area.)

I don't think it's supposed to be, but the picture on her hoodie looks sort of snow flakey to me.

Her hair looks dark, but actually contains several colours, including red. It looks quite realistic.

The hair is very soft and smooth.

She has applied eye lashes.
