So here is a picture of my very Springy daffodils, which will probably be wilted and covered in snow tomorrow morning!
And here is the doll I photographed yesterday,in the little purple flowers that grow on the ground cover vines around my yard.
She's made by Famosa. According to readers she's a Los Barriguitas doll. I do think they are right.
A Flickr friend told me this about Famosa: an acronym for united doll factories from Onil (a region in Valencia were many toy factories were located).
She measures about 5 1/2" tall.
She's jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. She was a Goodwill find a while back.
She has a cute face. Her arms are sort of elephantine though.
She seems to be wearing her original clothes, but no shoes.
I like her big eyes and cute smile.
If anybody knows who she is, please let me know.
Very cute doll. She seems to come from a line called Los Barriguitas. I did not see one dressed like yours.
ReplyDeleteI do think you're right, although I couldn't find one dressed like this either. These do seem to be her original clothes though.
DeleteThink she is a Los Barriguitas doll in an older style. Can't be too old because this style still shows up in Amazon uk searches. Newer ones have much flatter stylised painted faces. There were heaps of accessories and playsets for them. Couldn't find out much more because my phone is flatly refusing to translate anything for me.
ReplyDeleteStrange. What's she doing here? You seem to be right though.
DeleteNow, that's what I call abroad smile! She seems to be very happy among the flowers.
ReplyDeleteAnd your daffodils are (were?) beautiful! The ones here are already gone.
My daffodils at the side of the house bloomed, and are still there, since it didn't get as cold as it was supposed to. The ones at the back along my sidewalk, never bloomed at all. I usually blame it on the shade from the dogwood tree and the lilac bushes, but they haven't gotten leaves yet this year.
DeleteAll the local toy shops have these little dolls and her family, and they have cute little vehicles and other interesting stuff...but no, I leave them there as I don't want yet another type of doll coming here! I have no space as it is!

That is a common complaint in this hobby!
