Well I am very disappointed. ONE entry to win the Snapstar doll? Really? Did nobody like the prize,or was there just no one besides Dorothy who wanted to do the research to answer the questions? Dorothy was our ONLY entrant, so Dorothy,as I have informed you by email, you won! Why can't I find a contest where I'm the only entrant? Then maybe I could win something!
I was considering another competition for May, when I have my blogaversary. Now I figure there's not much point. Sorry Ken, for buying that prize I'm not going to use.

My 4th Blogaversary and a Giveaway
Today is the fourth anniversary of this blog.
I have been thinking about celebrating with a giveaway. I haven't yet decided what to giveaway,so if you have any ideas or suggestions of something you'd like to see given away here, (And let's not get carried away here. I'm not made of money.),maybe even a doll you've seen on the blog, leave a comment. I'll consider and announce the giveaway item in the first week of June. (I'll save you some time. Don't ask me to give away any of my childhood dolls!)

Happy Blogaversary to Us! And Some News About a Give Away
Hey! Today is the second anniversary of Planet of the Dolls! I am still enjoying the blog. I wish I had more time to devote to doing some of the things I did last year, like theme weeks and the histories of particular dolls. I spent quite a bit of time doing a doll every day last year, so I know my family was glad when the year ended! I really liked doing it though, even though some times it was hard work, involving a lot of research and writing. So expect to see some of those things occasionally once our trip to England is over and things have settled down a little. At the moment we are getting ourselves ready for the trip, doing some of the things we need to do before we go, and making sure everything will be taken care of while we are gone.
I have been pondering for a long time about doing a give away. Last year I did a give away and it received a grand total of ONE entry. I would really like to do another one, and hopefully, with readership up a lot since last year, there will be more entries. So, details about the give away will be revealed this Saturday. Make sure you come back then and don't forget to enter!

Doll-A-Day 89: Russian Doll
Ken's at work, Fuzzy is asleep, since he works nights, and Ivy isn't feeling well. So I have spent the day by myself.(Apart from visits to Ivy's room to remove her..uhh...'leftovers'.) I guess that's ok. Last night Emma, Ivy and I went to see The Muppets Most Wanted,(which I'll talk about soon.), and Emma stayed for dinner and tv. That was nice.We don't get much relaxed time with Emma these days. She is so busy with work and her radio show.It was nice to be able to just laze around with her.
The snow is melting and it's not too bad outside. Fuzz brought me a tomato plant thingy today, which I'm going to start inside now and hope it gets to go outside SOMEDAY!
Today's dolls is this cute little doll from Russia, or Ukraine, that I know absolutely nothing about.
I think it's a 'she'. She's about 10" tall.
She chose to pose in what was left of our quickly melting snow. She said it made her feel at home.
One side of her hair needs redone, but she has all of her original clothes, and her boots.
I have a couple of other Russian dolls, and they seem to be very poorly made , of cheap plastic that breaks very easily.
They are cute though.
The plastic they are made of has a translucent quality and gives them a glowy complexion.
Just a reminder, my one year anniversary of this blog is coming up in May. If my number of followers picks up significantly by then, I am considering doing a giveaway.Just saying...
See you tomorrow with another doll.

As you can see, my garlic is greening up quite nicely! It doesn't mind the cold,(as long as it's not the abnormally cold weather we had this winter.)

You can see where the snow ends in an even line. That's where our neighbors, the Selfish Giants, fence casts shade. It stays snowy there where the sun doesn't shine.

Kind of makes you want to whistle the Peter and the Wolf music, doesn't it?
