Doll-A-Day 2023 #83: Country Western Star Barbie-Two Ways!

Today's doll is two, but also a quick post because I also have a the Doll Book of the Month post due today. So, here they are, Country Western Star Barbie.

This doll was a Walmart Special Edition, exclusive to Walmart stores, back when stores all wanted to have their own exclusive Barbie doll, because Barbie was the in thing at the time.

They even bothered to do two versions of this doll, a blonde, and a brunette.

The blonde has the Superstar Barbie face.

But the brunette has the Teresa head sculpt.

I always loved this Teresa face.

While the blonde has blue eyes, the brunette has bright green eyes.

But they both have the same outfit and accessories.

She comes with a microphone, and the outfit includes a pink plastic cowgirl hat and boots...

...a dress with gold fringed blouse...

...and a bright, flowered skirt with a ruffled hem.

These girls need to leave. They were rescued from The House of Fire, and are in perfect condition. If anybody is interested, let me know.

  Tomorrow we'll see another doll.

Doll-A-Day 2019 #327: Barbie Basics 001 Model 11

Today's doll is another Barbie Basics doll.

This particular Barbie Basics doll is from 2009.

She's from the 001 series. She's model 11.

She originally came in a black dress. I haven't seen it around Ivy's things,so I've redressed her in a dress I found in Ivy's doll clothes. I don't know where it's from.

This doll has the Teresa head sculpt, which has been one of my favourites since Mattel started using it.

She has the Model Muse body...I think. Or is that only if she has her arm in the hand on hip position?

That's the doll for today. Come back tomorrow when we'll continue to see some of Ivy's dolls.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #9 Fashion Fever Teresa (Wave 2)

Today's doll is Fashion Fever Teresa, from the second wave of Fashion Fever dolls.

She's been redressed. I think that's a My Scene Barbie jacket.
Teresa (Barbie's friend) doll has been one of my favourite sculpts since I first saw a beach Teresa doll in the early '90's.

Although Teresa is Hispanic, this particular sculpt has gone on to be an every-woman,much like the popular Lea sculpt (Which I also love).

This doll is from the second wave of Fashion Fever dolls.

She originally came in a long maroon jacket, a shirt with a face on it,jeans, and a pink cap.

The Fashion Fever dolls had some great outfits.

This particular doll has beautiful colouring.

It's very natural, except maybe for that eye shadow!

Collector's seem to love the dolls, because they've gone on to be fairly expensive on the secondary market.

Later Fashion Fever dolls seemed to have the same head sculpts as the previous ones, only in a larger size.

The big head Fashion Fever dolls are still nice, but the head was just big enough to look a little off. I prefer the more realistic head size.

This head sculpt has been used with just about every hair colour, and skin tone. She's always beautiful, whatever they do with her.

Come back tomorrow for another doll,
