May Showers, Fading Flowers, and Some More Photos

I hope all the mom's out there had a nice day Sunday. I spent the day with my girls. When Ken got home from work we all went out to eat. We spent the rest of the night at Emma's,since we had to take her to the airport at 4AM.
We have had a lot of rainy weather lately. My beautiful dogwood tree,(I think that's what it is.), bloomed, and lost all it's petals.

My lilacs, which I love to smell, bloomed, and are now almost all finished.

All the pink stuff on the ground is dogwood petals.

The bushes with the tiny white flowers, which I used for my Mother's Day post, have bloomed.

It had been raining,so I couldn't mow, and in the meantime my neatly trimmed grass started getting out of hand.

Here are some outtakes from the Mother' Day shoot.

I have one bloomed iris and one bloomed amaryllis. All this has happened without my getting to enjoy it very much, because it has been raining so much I haven't been out in my yard very often. I haven't been able to hang laundry, work in the yard, mow, or sit out on the patio while Ken grills,(I don't grill, because 1,vegetarian meat doesn't grill well, since it doesn't make it's own grease like real meat, so it sticks. I'm sure there's a way to do it,and you can grill vegetables, but 2,I don't like smokey tasting food anyway. ),or sit in the yard on my bench. So while I have been in here the flowers have all started to go away. The dogwood tree is naked again, and the lilacs are almost gone. Luckily I brought some inside so I could enjoy them in the house. Even more lucky, they aren't toxic, because the first thing our cat Mow wanted to do when I brought them in was start eating them.
When we get some nice weather I can get outside and take some photographs. Tomorrow is my thyroid nodule biopsy. I'm not looking forward to the big needle in my throat!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all you moms out there are having a happy Mother's Day. I'm spending the day with my girls. We went to Ivy's Senior Awards night this past week, and it really hit home that she'll be going away to college soon. I cried on and off the whole evening afterward!

Dolly World and some of her kids wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!

Peddling Pepper

A little while back I showed you my newest bicycle. It was being presented by Tammy World, but she couldn't pose very well on the bike. Well recently I found someone who looks perfect on the bike.

Ideal's Pepper is the perfect size for the bike.

To be specific, this is Pos'n Pepper.

She has wired arms and legs, making her bendy,so she's able to put her feet on the pedals, and her hands on the handlebars.

See? She looks perfect!

Pepper's real flower is from the non edible strawberries that grow like crazy all over my yard.

This also gave me the opportunity to use my wire fence again,(You may have seen it in my post on vintage Ricky.),and this great mini trash can I got in Canada last September when we took an anniversary trip.

This is Pos'n Pepper's original dress.

It coordinates with the original outfit of Pos'n Salty,Pepper's friend.

You can see Pos'n Salty in my post HERE.

Pos'n Pepper's sister, Pos'n Tammy can be seen in THIS POST.

These pictures were taken a couple of days ago. I wanted sunny weather and waited all day for it. Finally the sun came out. I rushed outside with my stuff, only to realize that I had forgotten my fence! In the couple of minutes it took to get the fence, the sun was again covered by clouds! So I had to settle for these cloudy shots.

Pos'n Pepper is a lot easier to pose than Penny Brite, although they both have wired rubber limbs Pepper's are much softer. Penny Brite's are so hard that even though I've had a Penny since I was a tiny kid,I didn't realize she had posable arms until a couple of years ago!

That grass was freshly mowed when these were taken. We have a few days of rain, and now my mowing is behind again! I'll be back behind the mower tomorrow.

You have actually seen this Pepper before. She posed as an ice skater back in the winter.

You can see those pictures HERE.

And you can see regular Pepper, who doesn't have bendy limbs, HERE.

See you in a couple of days for another doll.

What Do You Mean You Didn't Notice I Was Gone?!

I have been away for a while. My computer wire wore through and I had to get a new one. So while I was waiting for a new one to arrive I busied myself with other things. I hung out a lot of laundry, mowed the yard again, washed up some second hand things,(Including some things you'll be seeing soon.),worked in the yard a bit, sorted through a bunch of things, cleaned off my desk, and my record player,(Which I am back to using due to my CD player refusing to open when asked. Unfortunately, the crappy modern record player doesn't work well either.),sorted through more things,(I have a lot of things.),and photographed some dolls for future use. I photographed today's doll one sunny day. So, in honour of National Sun Day today,(Which I learned about via Emma's radio show tonight, which celebrated with a 'sun' theme.),here she is.

She's a Living Skipper. You might have seen a little of her in my post on a different doll HERE.

In fact.she's just about my favourite of my Living Skipper dolls.

I got her in a lot on Ebay. When I got her she was just a head.

She also had part of one eye missing..

Her skin tone was so beautiful that she was worth saving. I repainted her eye.

I have rebodied her a couple of times at least. Her currant body is in pretty good shape.

Her knees bend pretty well,as do her elbows.

There is still damage though.

She really deserves a good body because her head is so nice.

So I'm still looking to upgrade her body again.

As you can see, the flowers on my ground cover vines are blooming like crazy.

Her dress could use an upgrade too, but I think I can repair it. It's the dress from the 1970 Skipper fashion Pink Princess.

The dress also has a green coat with pink velvet trim, and a pink 'fur' hat.

Happy Sun Day!

  See you soon.
