Doll-A-Day 2023 #314: Lee Middleton Baby

Happy Thanksgiving! Today we're going to see a doll of my sister's. I think she's a Reva Schick doll from Lee Middleton. **My sister says she was made by some lady, so she would have been made from a kit.** My sister named her Carmelita.

With my sister's cat. I can never tell if this is Alice or Meenu.

My sister kindly took these pictures for me, because I didn't have anything ready to post today. That's my sister, who doesn't collect dolls.

In the chair my mom's grampa made for her when she was a little girl. I realized today that this chair is almost 100 years old.

With my sister's dog, Travis.

I don't have much to say about her, so just enjoy these cute Fall doll pictures.

I never realized this doll had so much Fuzzy the Doll in her.

See you tomorrow, when I'll have to come up with a doll of my own!

Doll-A-Day 2023 #313: New Caco Girl!

Today we're looking at the last doll I got at the miniature show. She's a Caco!

She's very cute, and totally different from my other Caco girls. She's my first brunette.

I like the fabric her dress is made of. And look at that tiny rick rack trim.

She's the same size as Kay. Speaking of Kay, normally this girl would make her debut in the dollhouse, but that can't happen right now. I can't really pull out the other dolls right now either. So some day she'll get to meet Kay, and Jeffrey, and the gang.

Like all Caco dolls she has cloth wrapped legs and arms.

She's not super old, because she has plastic hands and feet, and not lead ones.

Like the Erna Meyer dolls, this sweet girl only cost $5.

I think she will be called Sue.

That's the doll for today. Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow, and we'll see another doll then.

Doll-A-Day 2023 #312: Another Erna Meyer Girl

I got this girl when I got yesterday's Erna Meyer girl, at the miniature show.

She has the classic hand painted Erna Meyer face.

Her pinafore looks a bit cheaply done for an Erna Meyer doll. It's cute though.

The dealer looked at her as the mom, and the other girl as the little girl. I suppose that's because of the size difference. This one is a little bit taller. But compared with my two grown ladies by Erna Meyer, these two are both kids.

The hands on these dolls are stockingette over wire that has been made into a loop. She also has pastic feet, which means she was made after the mid 60's.

  She has Princess Leia buns!

I got the two Erna Meyer dolls for $5 each, which is a really good price. I prefer this one to the other one. She's very cute.

We're getting ready for Thanksgiving here in the United States. So I'll be pretty busy tomorrow, shopping and prepping food. But we'll still be looking at a doll. It's the last doll I got at the miniature show. See you then.

Doll-A-Day 2023 #311: Erna Meyer Girl

Before we start, here's an update on my room. I went in there today to retrieve some things and the walls are really sooty. I mean blackened. I licked my finger and ran it lightly down the wall a little way, to see if it might come off. It did, but I'm not sure how clean I'll ever be able to get it. And the whole room is that way. I also found that my Bookworm figure, that you might have seen HERE, is now vacuum sealed in his packaging. He was way into the room, but up fairly high. I tried to see if the Barbie Regal Bed was still intact, but it was too dark to be sure. But it was further into the room, against the back wall, and up almost to the ceiling on top of a bookcase. The heat may have had an ill affect on it. We'll see.

Today we're going to see another little dollhouse doll I got at the miniature show. She's an Erna Meyer doll.

As I mentioned yesterday, (and previously), dolls are usually cheaper at toy shows, toys are cheaper at doll shows, and miniature shows don't put a lot of value on dolls. Heidi Ott dollhouse dolls seem to maintain some value, and artist's dolls, but second hand dollhouse dolls, to quote Rodney Dangerfield, 'don't get no respect'. Erna Meyer dolls aren't cheap. I got a couple of ladies, and a young man by Erna Meyer at a doll show a while back. (The ladies are still for sale, people!) I got them for a really good price, but I got this little girl for an even better price at the miniature show.

She's about 3 1/2 inches tall.

Erna Meyer dolls are made in Germany. They have wired arms and legs so they are posable.

She has plastic feet and white wrapping that acts as socks.

This girl is a later doll, probably 1980's.

The dolls have stockingette faces and distinctive features. Originally they were hand painted.

If you haven't had enough Erna Meyer check out the posts on my vintage Erna Meyer Dollhouse Lady and Dollhouse Grama. For information on the history of the Erna Meyer dolls, check out the Dollhouse Lady post.

Tomorrow we'll see another doll I got at the miniature show.

Doll-A-Day 2023 #310: Kenny Little

First of all, I apologize for the blurriness of the photos. The latest development in the ongoing saga of my camera problems is that now it has ceased to work at all. I am forced to use my phone or Ken's camera, which he's not crazy about. These were taken with the phone, and it wouldn't focus on something so small.

Today's doll is one I got at the miniature show yesterday. He's Kenny Little

The Littles were a series of 'little' dolls, with a house and lots of furniture, released by Mattel in the early 1980's. There was a whole family of Littles, including Mr. and Mrs. Little and the baby, who came packaged together, as well as several daughters, and a son named Kenny. I see Mrs. Little and various daughters occasionally. I have never found Mr. Little or Kenny in the wild before.

Kenny has freckles.

Kenny is about 2 inches tall, with cloth clothes over an all vinyl body.

Kenny originally came with a rocking horse, a wagon, a teddy bear, a blanket, and a pillow. He had a twin sister named Becky, who came separately. Becky came with a rocking chair with a cushion, tiny dollhouse, blanket, and a cat. Like all The Littles, he's jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips.

So her can stand or sit down.

And he can raise his arms.

As I have said before, dolls are generally cheaper at toy shows, and toys are cheaper at doll shows. In addition to that, miniature shows don't put much value on dolls. They're more about the furniture, accessories, and building materials. So I only paid a dollar for Kenny.

In spite of being 80's toys, The Littles have a very 60's/70's look about them. Am I right? Kiddley, aren't they?

You may have seen my post on Mrs. Little and a couple of daughters. I talked a bit about the Littles universe and what was available. You can find that post HERE. I also gave you a link to a page with loads of Littles information and pictures. You can see that page HERE.

That's the doll for today. See you tomorrow for another doll I picked up, (and actually paid for and brought back, Why do people say they 'picked it up', about things they bought?), at the miniature show. See you then.
