Doll-A-Day 2023 # 34: Forces of Destiny Endor Adventure Leia

Today is Ken's birthday. We're spending it with Ivy, Emma, and AJ, in Indiana because tonight is the opening night of a play that Ivy worked on the costumes for. But you're here for the dolls. And today's doll is one of Emma's. She's Endor Adventure Princess Leia.

This Leia is from the Star Wars Forces of Destiny series. She depicts Leia in her sort of camouflage gear from the battle on Endor from "Return of the Jedi".

This Leia has her hair up, in one braid around her head, and not the 'hairy earphones' she was known for.

The doll bears little or no resemblance to Carrie Fisher, who played Leia. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Maybe Mattel didn't want to pay Carrie for her likeness.

The doll also comes with a companion. He's Wicket the Ewok. Wicket is flocked, and very cute.

Wicket was played by Warwick Davis when he was only 13 years old. Since then Warwick has played the title character in the movie "Willow", and Professor Flitwick and Griphook the goblin in the Harry Potter movies, (He only voiced the character in the first movie, but went on to play him in the others.), and is currently appearing in the new "Willow" series, a follow up to the original movie.

The other outfit Leia wore in "Return of the Jedi" was her Endor foresty dress. That dress is included as an extra outfit for this doll.

The lacing is printed on. She also comes with an extra pair of sandals.

And of course, since she's fighting a forest battle, she comes with some natury weapons, like this bow and very thick arrow.

But, because she's Leia, she also has a blaster!

And a nifty holster to keep it in.

And she has a helmet, which came in handy for her ride on that speeder bike.

As you can see, Leia has jointed elbows and wrists, hands made for holding her weapons.

This doll is actually a little shorter than a standard fashion doll. That's fitting, I guess, since Carrie Fisher was a little short herself.  I like this doll myself, but Emma is a big "Star Wars" fan, and she nabbed this one when they were on sale cheap at Ollie's.

That's the doll for today. Come back again tomorrow for another one.

  3. I like this doll. I do not have Leia, but I have the Rey and Jyn with plastic moulded pants.
