Doll-A-Day 2019 #143: Stroll 'N Play Krissy Friend

Hi all. Firstly,I'd like to remind everyone about the Blogaversary giveaway to win a 35th Anniversary Barbie. Full details can be found on the post you can see at the top of the right hand side bar. Also VERY IMPORTANT: YOU MUST BE A FOLLOWER WHO SHOWS UP IN THE FOLLOWERS LIST IN THE RIGHT HAND SIDE BAR TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN. Anyone who has already answered the question to win,but was not a follower at the time, can still go back and become a follower by clicking the blue 'Follow' button under the list of followers. Also remember that if you entered the competition by commenting anonymously,I won't know who you are to let you know you won anyway,so please become a follower and then repost your answer in the comments of the contest post. Ok. Everybody got all that? Then let's move on to today's doll. She's this kid.

This doll is from the Stroll 'N Play Barbie and Krissy set from 2001. She's not Barbie's sister Krissy though. The set included a Barbie and two babies. One baby was Krissy, and the other was this baby. The poor kid never had a name.

She's wearing the Krissy dress.

She still has her yellow ribbon headband on though.

The Krissy babies are strung, not jointed (except for the head).

The set came with a double stroller.

The seats could be removed to be used as baby carriers, and the bar across the front could be turned into a play gym.

The handle can be moved.

Ivy has this set,but at the moment I'm using a spare baby of mine. I have that play gym somewhere, but right now all I can show you are the toys that attach to it.

You can watch a commercial for the Stroll 'N Play set HERE.  I helped Lori pack up her kitchen for her move to Georgia today. Her house has really sold this time, and she got a great deal on a house with 10 acres, and loads of out buildings,a dog kennel, and an 18 stall barn with two tack rooms and two feed rooms. So she is definitely moving this time. I'm going down with her when she moves to stay for a few days and get the house all sorted out and out together. I'm sure I'll cry all the way back.
For the last couple of years we've been talking about her trimming my hair, so today we decided we'd better get to it. My hair was in bad shape from not being trimmed in ages, so she had to take loads off. We kept joking about how bad it was because the last time it was this short was in 1985,when I had it cut and permed in York. The girl kept apologizing for having to cut so much off by continually saying,"But it's very damaged, in't it?" (That's not a misspelling. It was York,England and that's a common way to say 'isn't' there.) So my hair is barely below my shoulders and it feels really weird!
See you tomorrow for another doll.

  1. I think that I have this doll too, without clothes. But your doll is wearing her own clothes, is she not? They look like the clothes from the commercial. I also have the Krissy with her clothes minus diaper.

Mattel used the Krissy mould on the little kid in the Happy Family Neighbourhood neighbour family. That kid also looks like your girl.

I wish to get AA Krissy, who came with AA Barbie. And I wish the adoption Barbies and kids were not do uncommon and expensive 😔

  2. Oh! I looked at the advertisement picture now, and understand why you would think that your baby has Krissy's clothes. 😮 But I am sure that must be wrong. Just look at the commercial that you linked to. My Krissy came with the other outfit, and I am sure that I have seen the outfits that way on all the pictures that I have seen online of these girls.

  3. That's such a cute set! It would be nice if they came out with something similar for the Skipper Babysitters Club. I do wonder what babies who can't yet walk are going to do at the park, though.

  4. What a cutie girl. She does need a name. I don't know why Mattel would include her in the package and then ignore her. I love her sweet face.

  5. I like this one more than the blond you showed the other day. I really like brown eyes so that was what attracted me at the beginning, but she is a cute little baby...and even though she has the painted on hair, I like it better than the half and half of the other one.

    1. The Krissy dolls were so cute. I love brown eyes too. They really don't make enough brown eyed play dolls. I had a terrible time finding brown eyed dolls for my kids.
