I spent the day today at the flea market with my friend Lori. I'll tell you all about that tomorrow and show you some of the things I got. But today the Shrunken Saturday posts focuses on these two tiny thread dolls.
They're about 1 3/4 inches tall.
They are made of thread wrapped wire, so they are somewhat posable.
They're so tiny that they don't really have faces,just some mouth and eye smears.

ReplyDeletethis pair looks Swiss to me, I think the region Appenzell.
I am sure they are Norwegian. When I did a reverse image search, I found a very very very similar pair wearing bunader from Telemark (text on their envelope says Telemark). And another hit is a picture from Pinterest where someone claims that they are Swedish dancing dolls (but they are definitely Norwegian) -- the picture has three pairs of dolls including the twins of the two in your post. But all four pairs I found had their faces.
