Doll-A-Day 15: Little Miss Marie

Today's doll is Little Miss Marie.

She was a Woolworth's exclusive, sold in the 50's.

She's actually a very pretty doll.

She stands 8" tall. This particular doll has beautiful colouring, with blushy cheeks and bright lips.

These are her original dress and shoes.I love the colours in the dress.

She's jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips.

Her finger and toe nails are painted. She has rooted hair and sleep eyes with plastic lashes.

The dolls are unmarked, but the one shouldered dress is a giveaway.

She originally came in a box, with her name printed on it.

Like this one. Notice is describes her as an '8" walking doll'. I didn't notice her walking feature.

Until tomorrow, when I shall have an auction tale and many dolls to share.

  1. I remember my Miss Marie doll fondly. Unfortunately she was stored in the basement and got mildew on her face and I had to throw her out after trying everything to remove it. I am 65 and hoping to find a brown haired girl for my adult self to play with. Please let me
    Know
    If you know
Of any one selling one. Thank you in advance.
