Doll-A-Day 2019 #251: Boopsie

Before I start out,I want to remind everybody to 'like' Planet of the Dolls on Facebook, and check out the sales page because I have added some new stuff. You can find both of those by clicking the links in the side bar.
Today's doll is this young 'un.

Hiya!
She's Boopsie.

She was made by Ideal.

Boopsie was made for five years, from 1950 to 1955.

She's 8 inches tall.

She's hard plastic.

Her hair is molded and painted.

Look at all the detailed little curls!

Not so much detail in the ears though.

She has sleep eyes that

They aren't closed all the way here. Pretty creepy.

I showed you a Boopsie before.

She's a bit rougher than today's Boopsie. She also has a different Ideal symbol. on her back.

Today's Boopsie must be an early one, because she still says Patent Pending.
You'll notice both of these dolls are wearing homemade clothes.

That's because Boopsie was sold wearing nothing but a diaper.
Boopsie has separate limbs, but her body and head are one solid piece. That means she can't turn her head. That accounts for her stiff necked, distrusting look.

That's the doll for today.

Bye!
Come back tomorrow to see another one.

  1. I don't remember this doll. She does look kind of odd with her eyes closed.

Poor thing, she has to go through life without moving her head. I bet she has a serious stiff neck.
