Doll-A-Day 2017 # 123 :Awesome Skateboard Whitney

This is today's doll,Awesome Skateboard Whitney from 2000.

Whitney was one of the friends of Stacie,Barbie's sister.

This is her original outfit. She also had a blue helmet, knee pads, and a shoulder bag.

The Awesome Skateboard dolls all used the same head sculpt, but Whitney has cute freckles.

I don't care much for that lip colour though.
The dolls are jointed at the neck, shoulders, waist, hips, knees, elbows and ankles.

The torso joint lets her lean and twist at the waist.
Her right hip joint lets her leg swing outward as well as back and forth.

This makes them very posable and able to' ride' their skateboards...

The left knee holds a pose, but the right one is floppy, so the leg flops and they can appear to be pushing their skateboard when you scoot them on it.

It doesn't lock in place, which makes posing them hard sometimes.

Their shoes are molded on, so that's a drawback.

The ankles have sort of a cog joint that allows the ankles to be flexed into four different positions, and both forward and back.

Her head can tilt in cute ways.

Her pants even say she's cute.

Her long red hair is almost a pinkish orange, and has a little braid on each side.

Her head can tilt upwards a little too.
Stacie was daughter Emma's favourite line when she was a kid. She had almost all of the Stacie and friends dolls. I'm sure she had all three of the skateboarding dolls.

You can see the commercial for Skateboarding Stacie and friends HERE.

Come back tomorrow for another doll.

  1. She's an adorable doll. I had one once, but gave her to the Salvation Army. The molded on shoes and holes in her feet meant she just didn't work in my collection.

    1. You could have rebodied her. The heads aren't too hard to remove. She'd go well on a Gymnast Stacie body.
