Doll-A-Day 2023 #65: Bratz Flashback Minis Plus Totally Tiny

Today's doll is a bunch. They're Bratz Flashback Minis.

Have you seen these? I never liked Bratz dolls, but these are pretty cool. They have replicated the old Bratz dolls in mini form, right down to their original packaging! They're perfect little 1/6 scale, or Barbie sized miniatures. I was lucky enough to get the empty display box in a store recently. I say lucky because, as with many of the mini toys and blind bag toys displays, this box has some of the actual toys right on the box. That's them at the top of the picture above. You might want to check stores for the empties, because when the box comes in, it has these toys on it for display. When the box is empty, it's thrown out and a new box, (also complete with example toys), is put in it's place. I assume a lot of them go to employees, but you never know when you're going to be given the empty. Just ask.

The toys come two to a blind pack, at a price of around $8. (You can still get the advent calendar on Amazon for $22. It includes 25 goodies. But be forewarned.  Five are the mini cosmetics, ten of them are the dolls, and ten are the boxes for the dolls- excuse me, the 'mini replica packages'. So really you're getting 15 things. But $22 is still a better price than for 15 things than the $8 for 2, as long as you get free shipping.) As the display box says, there are 24 to collect. The series includes individual dolls, (including one guy), a doll double pack of twins, a car, a styling head, a motorcycle, and make-up sets. And even more neat, since it's mini: the make-up is real. You can actually use the tiny make-up.

But anyway, let's look at the stuff I got for free on the display box.

I ripped the display bit out of the display box so I didn't bring the whole thing into Emma's house. We bring enough stuff in here. The picture of the box above is a stock photo. This plastic shell full of toys tears off the box. It contains four toys: three dolls and a car.

The mini packages are replicas of the real thing.

The only difference is that the toys are hooked into the display box with plastic flaps that slide into the cardboard backing. (Unfortunately, they are taped on too.) To make them look exactly like the real packaging, those flaps need to be carefully cut off.

But look. They did even bother to make the back of the package too.

The packages are shaped just like the real things too. Some have the rounded edges and some are flat on the sides, depending on how the real thing was. Pretty well done.

And the packages do really open...but it's not easy without tearing them up. I don't think I'll try right now.

Since I was never into Bratz dolls my favourite thing is the car.

The other freebies I got on display boxes recently were these Totally Tiny ones.

Dollar Tree has these. This is the display box for the first series blind bags.

The sample toys displayed on the box are a piece of toast and a pair of eggs, which are one piece. I've gotten two empty display boxes so far, so a couple of dolls can have free breakfast. As you can see there three sets of food, in the blind bags, available. But they really aren't much of a surprise, because it's easy to tell by feel what you're getting. The eggs and toast feel flat.

The taco and churro can be identified by the feel of the churros especially. And the cookie and macarons are the easiest, because those three stuck together macarons are pretty distinctive.

So there you are. Freebies await you. Go forth and collect them. See you tomorrow for another doll.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #149:Moxie Girlz Holiday Lexa

We're down to the wire on these Goodwill dolls. Only a few more left.Today's doll from the hauls is this girl.

She's wearing her original dress and boots.
She's missing her leggings though. She is actually standing on her own, by the way. No extra supports.

She's Moxie Girlz Lexa from the Holiday series.

Her dress has a red tulle underskirt. I'veseen pictures of these dolls with white boots too.

She seems to have some fabric paint in her hair. I'm hoping it will come out.Maybe boiling water will soften it? Anybody?
Moxie Girlz are made by MGA, the same company that makes Bratz. The Bratz below was part of the Goodwill haul.

I don't like Bratz(As I've said, except for a genie and the Bratzillaz.), but I wanted the Moxie Girlz clothes she was wearing. She's been redressed in Bratz clothes from the bag of clothes I got.
The feet on Moxie Girlz are removable, like Bratz feet.

Moxie foot and leg peg on the left, Bratz on the right.

The two are not compatible though. The pegs on the Moxies' legs are slightly smaller than the Bratz ones. So no foot/shoe sharing.
I like Moxie Girlz, especially the dark haired and red haired ones.

Tomorrow? More Goodwill haul!Only two more days of dolls from the haul!

Doll-A-Day 2017 # 95:Bratz Boyz Braden

Today's doll is one I can't make up my mind about. You know I have said I never liked Bratz dolls, except for the occasional genie and the Bratzillaz? Well I was never very fond of the Bratz Boyz either. I didn't like their  stuck up looking faces or their stick up looking hair. This guy is Bratz Boyz Braden though, and he has kind of an interesting look.

But is it creepy?
He must have been kissing too hard. Took the lips right off him.

He kind of has a face like part of his features have been washed off or faded out. Like young Matt LeBlanc.

These are his original clothes...I think.

I know the shirt is...

...and I think the pants are.
He's not trying to look hot, The Velcro on that shirt is really crappy.
The shoes are definitely not. He should have black motorcycle boots.
He has a very different look from other Bratz Boyz.

And he's way taller than most Bratz Boyz too.

He had a nice sunny day for his photo shoot today.

Those are some heavy duty eyebrows.
The day was sunny, but slightly chilly because of the wind. It was 50 degrees though. Friday we are due for SNOW! I just hope it doesn't affect my plants.
The poor daffodils are still trying to bloom.

The lilacs are budding.
And so is the pear tree.
Jerome, our bunny, will be glad his clover patch is coming back in our garden spot again this year.
The peony bush is this tall now.
The leeks have started again.

The hostas I got from my neighbour are making their way back.
The wild violets are already blooming.

The purple ground cover thingy is blooming too.

And so are these little white flowers you usually see in the woods, that grow in the shade of my neighbour, The Selfish Giant's fence.
I just hope that at least the pear blossoms and the lilac buds survive the snow and the cold!
Tomorrow we'll look at another doll.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #42, Shrunken Saturday: Priscilla Vanilla Creme Yummi Land Doll

Today's Shrunken Saturday doll is this girl.

She's 5" tall.

She's Priscilla Vanilla Creme, from the Creme Soda Pop series of  Yummi Land dolls.
I think her sparkly lips look a little crusty.

I've shown you a Yummi Land doll before. You can see her HERE.

Yummi Land dolls came in a plastic bottle.
Her little cape is not attached to her dress.
Priscilla originally had a little top hat perched on her head. She also came with a pet,a brush, and a purse that looks like an ice cream sundae. Her pet came in it's own bottle.

These small ones are 5" tall, but there was also a series of 11" dolls,a series of Littlest Pet Shop sized pets, and a series of small pets.

Her shoes are molded.

The pets are super cute. In fact, I like them better than the dolls. One of these days I'll do a post on the pets.

These dolls were made by MGA,who also make Bratz and Moxie Girlz. Can you tell?

Her hair is super long, and fairly smooth and easy to comb.

My other Yummi Land doll has silky hair too, so fortunately this seems to be a trait, not a fluke.

See you for another doll tomorrow.
