Mystery Barbie Shirt: Help!

A while back I did a post on Tammy World's mom,who is a Kaybee Special Edition Fashion Avenue Barbie from 1998.

You can see that post  HERE.

A reader contacted me to say she has a mystery shirt that is made of the same fabric as Mrs. World's original dress, which looks like this:

And here is the mystery shirt:

It was being sold described this way,"Fits 90s-and-older "TNT" body; too large for smaller-chested bodies like Teen Skipper, etc. Cerulean blue satin fabric with Asian flower pattern, lined in bright green."
She said it was being sold with a pair of jeans that might have originally have gone with it. They look like this:

Their description said,"Denim Barbie jeans - fits 90s-and-older "TNT" body, but only barely (bit of a struggle to get it over the hips); fits Teen Skipper body best. Black silk belt with metal buckle; green stitching on dark denim."
If anybody knows what line these came from or knows anything about these pieces of doll clothing, please leave a comment. Our reader is going out of her mind trying to figure them out!

May Showers, Fading Flowers, and Some More Photos

I hope all the mom's out there had a nice day Sunday. I spent the day with my girls. When Ken got home from work we all went out to eat. We spent the rest of the night at Emma's,since we had to take her to the airport at 4AM.
We have had a lot of rainy weather lately. My beautiful dogwood tree,(I think that's what it is.), bloomed, and lost all it's petals.

My lilacs, which I love to smell, bloomed, and are now almost all finished.

All the pink stuff on the ground is dogwood petals.

The bushes with the tiny white flowers, which I used for my Mother's Day post, have bloomed.

It had been raining,so I couldn't mow, and in the meantime my neatly trimmed grass started getting out of hand.

Here are some outtakes from the Mother' Day shoot.

I have one bloomed iris and one bloomed amaryllis. All this has happened without my getting to enjoy it very much, because it has been raining so much I haven't been out in my yard very often. I haven't been able to hang laundry, work in the yard, mow, or sit out on the patio while Ken grills,(I don't grill, because 1,vegetarian meat doesn't grill well, since it doesn't make it's own grease like real meat, so it sticks. I'm sure there's a way to do it,and you can grill vegetables, but 2,I don't like smokey tasting food anyway. ),or sit in the yard on my bench. So while I have been in here the flowers have all started to go away. The dogwood tree is naked again, and the lilacs are almost gone. Luckily I brought some inside so I could enjoy them in the house. Even more lucky, they aren't toxic, because the first thing our cat Mow wanted to do when I brought them in was start eating them.
When we get some nice weather I can get outside and take some photographs. Tomorrow is my thyroid nodule biopsy. I'm not looking forward to the big needle in my throat!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all you moms out there are having a happy Mother's Day. I'm spending the day with my girls. We went to Ivy's Senior Awards night this past week, and it really hit home that she'll be going away to college soon. I cried on and off the whole evening afterward!

Dolly World and some of her kids wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!

Doll-A-Day 2017 #134: Happy Mother's Day! KayBee Special Edition Fashion Avenue Barbie 1998

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

We're going to take a break from all the Goodwill hauls to celebrate Mother's Day.

You'll have seen this doll before. She's Tammy World's mother, Dolly World.

But originally she was the KayBee Special Edition Fashion Avenue Barbie from 1998.

Her original outfit, which I have been known to describe as Asian Wild West Dance Hall girl.

Kaybee was a chain of toy stores. I'm not sure if any of them still exist, but all of the ones around here went out of business.

She has what is known as The Mackie Face, because it was first used on a Bob Mackie Barbie doll.

When I bought her I kept her as she was for a while, but then I needed a model for some doll clothes Emma and I were making one day.

But not this dress. it's a 'store bought', as people used to say.
She became our model. She just looked so good in everything we put on her that we started calling her The Most Beautiful Doll in the World.

Somewhere around then the kids started calling my Fern doll 'Tammy the Doll', because I said if somebody made a doll of me as a kid they should use Fern, because she had the red hair and ponytail I had as a kid.

They are wearing their coordinating fruit clothes.

So when 'Tammy' was playing with the kids' dolls, she needed a mom, and The Most Beautiful Doll in the World had a child.

We shortened her name to 'Dolly World',because the full thing was too much to say every time. That's how they became the 'World' family.(And naming the husband "Wally World" was my joke.Yeah. I'm a riot like that...)

I wish she didn't have to have blue earrings all the time.

I've often thought about rebodying her to an articulated body. Her skin tone is so pale though that it's hard to find a body for her. Some Liv dolls and the Made to Move Asian doll come close, but aren't quite right.

Apparently I will be spending tomorrow with all of my children. That's the plan anyway. That's the best gift I can think of.

So Moms, today I hope your children are treating you to a meal, bringing you flowers, or, more importantly, spending some time with you.
Tomorrow we're back to the old Goodwill haul,(Don't worry. It'll all be over soon.)
