Doll-A-Day 2017 #180:La Dee Da Sweets Party Sloane

Today is just a quick post with whatever I had photographed, because our internet has been out all day and you never know when it's going to go out again! So,today's doll is this La Dee Da doll.

I found her recently. I hadn't seen a La Dee Da with freckles before.

I had a hard time finding her online.

She's almost this La Dee Da:Sweets Party Sloane as Lollipop Swirl.

Her dress is made of the same fabric(without the trim though), and she has the same face and her hair is almost the same colour, but is missing the bangs.

I finally found her. She's Sloane from the Sweets Party redo.

Finding this also explained my curious Dee,which I featured on a previous day.(You can see her HERE.) She was almost the Sweets Party Dee with the multicoloured hair. She's from the redo too. As it happens, I recently found the original Sweets Party Dee. I'll be updating redo Dee's post with pictures of the comparison.

I hope I can post a doll tomorrow.Let's hope my internet is working. I haven't missed a day so far this year!

Doll-A-Day 2017 #145: La Dee Da Cyanne as Peppermint Pose Sweet Party

I'm posting this a little early since I'll be busy all day. My best friend,Lori, had her heart ablation on Wednesday and I spent the day hanging out at the hospital, keeping her company, something I have had to do way more than I would have liked the last couple of years. We were told the ablation went well, so hopefully this will take care of her heart problems and she can get back to normal. Today she'll be going home ffrom the hospital, so I'll probably be running her home. It's also Ivy's last day of school for this year, and we have an appointment to celebrate with a grilled cheese sandwich,(her) and a soy cheeseburger(me),Rally fries, and chocolate milkshakes, using our old fashioned soda shop style milkshake glasses and our red and white striped vintage style paper straws.
And today it's back to the Goodwill hauls from a lucky week I had recently. Today we're seeing a La Dee Da doll.

She's Cyanne as Peppermint Pose.

Even her eyes are swirly, like mints.

She's from the Sweet Party line, like another La Dee Da doll I featured recently, Dee as Dots of Style. You can see Dee HERE.

I featured another La Dee Da as doll of the day back during the first year of Doll-A-Day. she was Cotton Candy Crush Tylie, and you can see her day HERE. Back then I mentioned one La Dee Da I would really want:This one! I felt really lucky when I found her, especially as complete as she is.

She has her complete original outfit, except for the shoes.

These are some rather extravagant looking Barbie shoes with molded roses and other details.
These shoes are way too big on her tiny feet, but they look alright.

Her dress has a big peppermint on the waistband.

There are more peppermints on her ponytailers.

And her hair is peppermint striped too.

As with my other La Dee Da dolls, she has very weak knees and a head the pulls her over when she tries to stand.

Standing requires a prop of some sort,and/or a lot of leaning.

The arms and legs can at least go out to the side, as well as up and down.

Plus she has that cute face.

With pink freckles!
You can see Cyanne as Peppermint Rose on the La Dee Da home page HERE.

Tomorrow we'll see another La Dee Da from the haul.

Doll-A-Day 2017 # 54: La Dee Da Dee as Dots of Style

Today's doll is Dee,one of the La Dee Da dolls.
Original dress and replaced shoes.
She's Dee as Dots of Style Dee.

Or is it?! From what I can tell, my doll has the dress and eyes of that doll, but not the hair,(There should be some purple hair on top and orange hair around the bottom.), or sparkly paint around her left eye. Any ideas anybody?

She's from the Sweet Party series.

You can see my other La Dee Da doll HERE.

And you can visit the La Dee Da home page HERE.

I like the look of some of the La Dee Da dolls, and I like a lot of the clothes and accessories that fit their theme.

La Dee Da's have nice faces, with big eyes.

I have seen some beautiful repaints. Now that I have a spare doll,(a less complete double of the doll I gave the link to above.),I may try repainting her.

My biggest complaint with the La Dee Da dolls is that they are head heavy and weak limbed.

Dee had a hard time supporting herself in a sitting position, even with her arms to prop her up.

There's no way her tiny feet and weak knees joints will allow her to stand up on her own.

Her arms can't move in any interesting way. They are strictly up and down arms, without even an interesting turn of her hands or a bent elbow.

Do the limbs start out this loose, or do they become that way with play?I've never had a La Dee Da straight out of the box, so I don't know.

Check in tomorrow to see what the doll of the day is.

Doll-A-Day 195: La Dee Da Cotton Candy Crush Tylie

Today's doll is La Dee Da Tylie.

This particular Tylie is from the Sweet Party line and is Cotton Candy Crush.

I have looked at the La Dee Da dolls in stores. They're sort of nice, but I didn't like them enough to pay store prices for them. I thought I might get one if I found it marked down enough or even at a thrift store or yard sale.

I have seen some really nice repaints too, which I might like to try doing if I had a cheap La Dee Da.

This one I found at a garage sale last week for a quarter. She has her original dress and shoes and, of her main accessories, she's only missing her hair ornament, a cotton candy.

She did come with a few other things, which really don't interest me much, so I'm good with it.

So while I might like to do a repaint, she's too complete to mess with, I think.

My first choice of a La Dee Da doll might have been a red head, or one of the dolls with the REALLY red, (Like fire engine red.) hair.

Or even this one, Cyanne as Peppermint Pose, also from the Sweet Party line.
But this one is nice. I like her fluffy dress.

This La Dee Dad has arms that go out to the sides as well as up and down, and jointed knees.

She can't stand up on her own because her head is so heavy and her spindly legs collapse on her.

So while this looks really good, here's what was really going on:

La Dee Da dolls are made by Spin Master, which brought us the fantastically poseable Liv dolls.La Dee Da dolls are based on the idea that 'Dee' and her friends started a fashion line called 'La Dee Da'.

I was planning on taking these pictures this afternoon, when Emma arrived suddenly to borrow the camera, on her way to see Aretha Franklin at the Ohio State Fair. So I had to take them quickly: like, in a couple of minutes!

They turned out pretty well, for being done so quickly.
Tomorrow I'll tell you what happened yesterday. It turned out to be my very lucky day.
