Doll-A-Day 2019 #311: A Doll (and a Necklace!) of My Own making

I did Emma's radio show with her tonight. We did a birthday show for Ivy, playing a bunch of Ivy's favourite songs, and some that had to do with things she said or did when she was little. I was so tired and preoccupied with all the stuff I have to do, that I didn't say much, but I did think of a lot of the songs to use. I wasn't totally worthless.
  Today's doll is another of Ivy's, but she's also one I made,and she's a necklace.

She's only a couple of inches tall.

Like the other dolls of this type that I made, she has a wooden head and a felt covered wire armature,so she is bendable and posable.

The main difference between this doll and the others like this that I have made,is that she has painted hair.

I made her for Ivy when she was little. I also made her a wooden bead bracelet that was all little heads. She had me make one for her best friend too. I wonder what ever happened to that? I wonder what ever happened to Ivys! I haven't come across it yet.
That's the doll for today. Tomorrow I drive to Indiana to bring Ivy home for the weekend. There will still be a doll tomorrow though. See you then.

Doll-A-Day 2019 #162: A Doll of My Own Making: June

Today's doll is one I made. She's 'June'.

June is the only doll I made that I made as a necklace.

She sold on Etsy. I wish I knew how well she held up to being worn. The lady who bought her said she loved her when June arrived, but that's the last I heard.

I named this doll 'June' because she reminded me of 'June Cleaver',from "Leave it to Beaver". June Clever was famous for hanging around the house in her high heels, starched dresses, and pearls.

I didn't have any tiny pearls at the time. I wanted to put a pearl necklace on her. If I had it to do again, I would fake it out with paint.

I did put a lace apron on her. She also has painted fingernails...even if she doesn't have fingers!
June was made the same way as the other little dolls like this that I made. She's only a couple of inches tall, and has a wooden head, and a felt covered wire armature. She can actually be posed,as her arms and legs bend.
That's the doll for today. See you again tomorrow for another doll.
