Doll-A-Day 2023 #125: Bruno

First of all, I apologize for any blurry pictures. I knocked my camera in the floor the other day, and now it won't autofocus at all most of the time, and it's hard to focus manually, because it's so stiff that when it let's go, sometimes it doesn't stop where I want it to. The zoom feature isn't working well either.

Remember when I posted all the dolls from Encanto except Bruno? Well, Bruno has been hanging around here ever since shortly after that, waiting for his day. So here he finally is. But remember, we don't talk about Bruno...

Bruno is about 12 inches tall.

He is wearing a jumpsuit, or at least a one piece version of his pants and shirt.

His poncho has the design printed on it.

Including the fringe.

He does have an actual hood.

He still has the plastic ties in his hair from being hooked in his box.

Although I'm not sure he could really get it over that hair. Lots of hair.

He's also wearing his sandals.

He has really simple feet: no toenails. But his sandals are nicely detailed.

I was impressed by Bruno's articulation. He only has the usual five points: neck, shoulders, and hips. But he can tilt his head from side to side, as well as turn it.

His arms and legs can go out from the sides, and not just back and forth.

His arms can also swivel in the sockets.

And he can sit down.

And his legs can turn, allowing him to do a pigeon toed stance.

He has big, painted, brown eyes.

His eyebrows have some detail in them, but his beard is just a brown stain on his face.

Actually, it looks like somebody drew it on with marker.

Poor Bruno. He has big purple circles under his eyes.

He must be tired.

He looks fairly movie accurate, except for the printed poncho. He's about the same size as Delores, who he has been standing next to for a while.

That's the doll for today. See you again tomorrow.

Doll-A-Day 2023 #31: Delores

Today's doll is the last "Encanto" doll for a while at least. I promise. She's Delores.

So far we've seen dolls from the Walmart exclusive set of four "Encanto" characters. Delores is not from that set, and she's not an exclusive. Emma had been wanting to buy Delores, and she went out and bought her so I could post her, with the other "Encanto" dolls she has, on the blog.

Delores is the character who had the gift of being able to hear everything around her, even far away sounds. That's why the doll has one bent arm, so she can put a hand to her ear.

She can also put it to her mouth, to call someone.

But she can't quite touch her mouth.

This doll also has cute freckles, like some of the others we've looked at.

Delores has beautiful big brown eyes, and her eyebrows are a painted line, as well as individual strokes within it.

She has molded on earrings.

Her necklace kept turning around.

She has a plastic necklace, which, as I said, kept turning around.

Wrong.

Right.

Her hair is pulled up into a puffy blob.

She's marked 'Disney' on the back of her head.

Emma disliked the fact that her head band is a 'big piece of plastic'. I agree, but I guess it stays on better than a cloth one when she's being played with.

Her dress has a printed design.

Her dress came out of the box pretty creased.

The stitching around the neck line is printed on too.

Her dress is all one piece, that closes in the back with Velcro.

It closes a little crookedly! I didn't take a picture, but she is wearing white, painted on underwear.

As with all the characters, she has really cute shoes.

Like the other girls' shoes, Delores' shoes are open in the back to make them easy to put on and take off.

The articulation on this doll is like the others. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips.

But, as with the other dolls, she can also move her arms and legs out to the sides, as well as back and forth...

Sorry the background doesn't look like Columbia, where the movie is set. Take that up with Roku.

...and she can tilt her head a bit.

I mentioned in the other posts on the "Encanto" dolls that they are larger than Barbie scale, so they can't share clothes, even with Curvy Barbie. Delores is the same.

That's the doll for today. Tomorrow we'll see an interesting guy you may not have heard of before. See you then.
