It's amazingly hot today. It's 89 degrees Farenheit, but it feels hotter. It makes me have trouble breathing and I have no strength at all. We don't have air conditioning,so there's no escape.
In looking for the travel dolls I came across a lot of interesting dolls I haven't looked at for a while. One such doll is this lady.
IS she a doll,or is she a toy? Can she be both? She's made of metal.
She's still a travel doll I suppose. She's obviously meant to be Russian, but I don't see any writing on her anywhere.
She has a wind-up feature.
Once I had fitted her key back in I wound her up. She has wheels.
When wound up she rolls forward, stops, spins, and then rolls forward again.
Her had can tilt from side to side. I wonder if it originally tilted as she rolled.
I think I might keep this one.I like her alot, and she reminds me of toys we had as kids. Oh...I said toy. Is she a doll or a toy?!
That's the doll, (Or is she a toy?!),for today. See you again tomorrow.

Doll-A-Day 2019 #120: Wind Up Drinking Man
Today's doll is this little guy.
He is little. He stands just over 6 inches tall.
He's holding a mug, which should be a tip off to the kind of doll he is. (No! Not a drunk one!)
He has a mechanism meant to be wound by a key in his back.
His key is missing, so I haven't been able to see if he works yet. If he does, when wound, he would lift his mug to his mouth.
His clothes are made of felt.
His hands are wooden. I'm not sure what his face and legs are made of. Composition maybe,or paper mache'.
I'm guessing he's a German doll, maybe made by Schuco? His face looks more like a Bremerhaven. Both of those made dolls with metal feet though. Does anybody have any ideas?
That's the doll for today. I have to apologize for the quality of the photos. Fuzz borrowed my camera and Ken's lens, and hasn't brought them back. Hopefully he'll get around to that soon!

It looks like he was originally holding something in his other hand too. Maybe he was a 'two fisted drinker'. |

His eyes are a little yellow. Maybe he has a hint of jaundice. |
