Dolls For Sale! Pre Bitty Baby Gotz Doll and Magic Attic Megan Porcelain

Sometimes you have to let go of things! Here are a couple of things I'm letting go of.
Gotz Bitty Baby look alike doll.
UPDATE: The Gotz doll is sold.

This doll is marked Gotz Puppe. Bitty Baby were  molds used. (Goetz used the original American Girl molds before they were bought by Pleasant Company.) Rooted dark, curly hair and brown sleep eyes. White cloth body. Clean, no odors. Initials written in marker on the back of her head, right under her hair line, and name written on the side of her body. She'll come with her candy striped dress. I have no idea if it's an original Gotz dress. $30 plus shipping, which depends on your location.

Magic Attic Club Exclusive Megan Porcelain Doll

This is a really pretty porcelain version of Magic Attic's red head, Megan. She's wearing a cute outfit with a plaid skirt and red twin set, tights and black velveteen shoes. She has a porcelain head, lower arms, and legs. Her arms are wired for posing. She comes with her stand. She has never been removed from her original box, and still has all her restraints on, as well as her hair net. Her purse is in plastic. Her hang tag is on her. I got very excited when I found this doll, until I realized she's porcelain, not vinyl. I really don't like porcelain dolls, so since I need to thin things out, she's going to go. $30 plus shipping, which will depend on where you live.
That's all for this time. Hopefully these guys will find new homes and I will post some new ones soon.

Doll-A-Day 146: Magic Attic Alison

UPDATE: Alison is currently for sale on Ebay to help pay for our radiator repair, (Thanks Alison!), if anybody is interested. There are more pictures and a description of her few flaws to give you a better idea of her condition than this blog post. She is pretty nice though, as you can see. If she had been the red haired Magic Attic doll, Megan, she wold be staying around...
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Alison has gone bye bye. Thanks to the buyer. We are one step closer to that radiator repair!
Today's doll is Magic Attic Alison.

Magic Attic dolls were produced between 1994 and 2004. The original company was Georgetown, but the dolls were sold to a couple of other companies, including Knickerbocker, and a company owned by Marie Osmond and her husband.

The dolls were sculpted by Robert Tonner.

The doll line was started to compete with American Girl, since at the time American Girl produced only historical dolls, and no contemporary dolls. Magic Attic dolls are 18" tall, like American Girls, but they are thinner, and all vinyl.

The vinyl these dolls are made out of is very smooth and feels so nice.

Her hair is wigged, although at one point the Magic Attic dolls were briefly made with rooted hair.

Unlike American Girl dolls, Magic Attic dolls are all vinyl dolls. They are strung,so there is some flexibility in their posing possibilities, but they can only move at the neck, shoulders, and hips.

There were several dolls in the original Magic Attic series, and some were added along the way. The dolls had different hair colours, and each had a 'favourite colour' that her clothes and accessories were made in. Alison's colour was blue.

As you may have guessed, this Alison is wearing replacement clothes. They look cute on her though.

I got kind of excited when I found Alison at our local Salvation Army, but she isn't really my type. I might have been much more inclined to warm toward a Magic Attic doll had I found the red haired Megan, instead. She'll be finding her way onto Ebay soon.
  That's all for today's doll.
