Doll-A-Day 2019 #361: Disney Animator's Collection Anna

Today's doll is one I got for Christmas the other day. She's this little girl.

Of course, she's Anna,from Frozen.

She's the current Disney Animator's Collection Anna. There have been a couple of others at least. You may have seen my other one, which is the very first Animator's Anna.

You can see her post HERE. There are slight differences between her face and the face on the new girl.

The new one has brown eye shadow and her lips look a little more natural.

And obviously the hair is different.

There were a couple of slightly different versions of the first dress,I think. The dress on this new girl is the same dress as an earlier gift set with Ann and Elsa, only a little shorter, and with a different collar.

Notice how the corners of her mouth paint aren't in the corners that are molded.

She has painted on undies.

Her shoes are pale green with a printed design.

Her little Olaf toy is different than the original too.

Like the other Animator's dolls little toys, her toy Olaf can hang on her wrist by the clear plastic band attached to him.

When the first version of the Anna doll came out, there were a lot of complaints that her ponytails were too high. Collector's redid her hair to make it more movie accurate. This new one has low ponytails.

And she still has a plastic tie in her head!
She's jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips.

Her arms can move out to the sides a little bit.

Her head can not only turn side to side, but she can look up a bit.

But she can look downward much better.

I like her blushy cheeks and cute little freckles.

I had a terrible time getting Anna out of her box! The insert wouldn't slide out of the box for one thing. I had to fight with that.Eventually I had to open the bottom of the box too and push the insert out the top. Then there were a million plastic ties holding her to the box. There were way too many, way more than were necessary. I would hate to have been a kid fighting with that on Christmas morning.

That's today's doll. Tomorrow we'll see the other doll I got for Christmas, and some of my other gifts.

Doll-A-Day 2017 # 258:My First Disney Princess Merida

Today we're looking at this girl.

She's Merida of course.

This particular Merida is the My First Disney Princess Toddler Merida Forest Adventure. (Shew! That's a lot of name for a little girl!)

Here's what she would have looked like in her box

She was made by Tollytots.

This is her original dress. She should also have blue shoes.I found the doll and the bow and arrow at the same time, but I only found out afterward that this isn't her bow and arrow. It goes to some other Merida.

This one has a built in arrow that doesn't detach.

The bow that came with this Merida had separate arrows that fitted in her quiver.

Her quiver is on a belt, instead of on her back.

She has a great head of red hair.

It could do with a tidying up, but I know I'd ruin the curls. As you know if you read the blog, I'm not very good at hair!

She has a sprinkling of freckles.

She doesn't have the smart aleck, quizzical face of the Merida from the movie, or even the Animator's toddler Merida. She's a bit too pretty. Not that Merida wasn't pretty, but she wasn't traditionally pretty.

I prefer the Disney Animator's Merida, but when I found this girl I hadn't yet found my Animator's Merida. I figured I'd never get one,so this Merida would have to do. Since then I  got my Merida,so I'll probably let this girl go. For the time being though, she's still hanging out here.

See you tomorrow for Shrunken Saturday.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #133:Shrunken Saturday:Snow White and Tiana

Today we're continuing to look at my recent Goodwill hauls. These little girls are Snow White and Tiana from The Frog Princess.

They would work very well in the Lori house,or as full size dolls,(As opposed to child size.), in a regular dollhouse.

They are both wearing their original outfits except for the shoes.

These tiny dolls are only 6" tall.

They are slightly bigger than the Disney Store Animator's toddler dolls, like my Alice.
Of the two I like Tiana best.

She has a little dimple on each side.

 She's so cute.

I nearly left Snow behind, but they wanted to stay together...

I actually have a Cinderella and a Rapunzel from this same series. I think they are from this set. They may have been available individually though.

They laid claim to this Lego doll that I got in the bag of clothes.

She's Summer Riding Camp Emma. My own Emma already has one. She loved her Legos when she was a kid, and when they came out with this Emma I bought her one of the tiny sets with an Emma in it.

See you tomorrow for another doll from the haul.
