It's Saint Patrick's Day, so today's doll is the Princess of Ireland from 2001.
This Barbie doll was part of a series of international dolls called Princesses of the World.
This series followed the popular Dolls of the World series, but was much shorter lived.
The dolls were gorgeous though.
If you're wondering why she keeps posing with her right side to the camera, well,it isn't because that's her 'good side'.
A few days ago I got this doll out to use today. I left her laying in the floor while I did something else, and then promptly stepped on her and broke her crown. (Is that what really happened to Jack from Jack and Jill? "Jack fell down, and Jill stepped on him and broke his crown" doesn't sound nearly as good as "Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after" though.)
I'm going to have to glue that piece back in. Knowing me, I'll get her hair full of glue.
It would be great if she had more articulation. I hid her stiff Barbie arms behind her cape.
See you tomorrow for Shrunken Saturday.
I have this doll too, although mine is dressed in modern clothes currently. If it makes you feel any better, I broke a crown that belonged to one of my Ken dolls; I think he was supposed to be King Arthur. And I'm not sure now where Princess of Ireland's belt is. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteThey did a nice job with her clothes, she's a beautiful doll.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
