Today's doll is a simple one. It's this baby.
He's made of cheap plastic. I'm guessing him to be from the 60's or very early 70's. That's based on the look of him, and the load of stuff I got him it at a yard sale.
That's today's doll. Tomorrow we'll see another one.
I have three of this doll. Well two, because one is a curly brunette. The brunette was my first doll of this kind, and came with a white sundress with red borders/ribbons that tie behind her neck and a tiny flower under her chin. The second, looking like yours, was found on the ground in the city wearing nothing, and her hair was messed up and maybe cut. The third was bought on EBay from a seller that had no info, and was wearing an orange dress with a white ribbon at the bottom and a white plastic collar.
ReplyDeleteI used to think my two childhood dolls were very similar to my Pee Wee clones. When my new one from EBay came wity a Baby Pee Wee, I thought that their noses and bottle mouths were so similar, that these dolls must be inspired by Pee Wee dolls. Then I came over a doll in the line "Pee Wee Cuties." It was a curly brunette with blue eyes, like my first doll of the kind that you have. And the body is very similar (hands, feet, size), only it is not articulated... My Pee Wee Cutie doll looks very much like a closed-mouth version of my first doll of the kind that you have here, but with a stiff body.
Interesting. I think a lot of companies shared doll parts back when these were made. You're welcome to this doll if you want to pay the shipping. I don't want it. Should be okay to ship cheaply in a padded envelope.
